Three Behavioral Health Fellowships

We’re pleased to offer three one-year postdoctoral fellowships in pediatric psychology, clinical child/adolescent psychology, and primary care psychology, each beginning in September 2025. There may be an opportunity for a second year for all positions.

Pediatric Psychology Fellowship

The Pediatric Psychology fellowship provides comprehensive training in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with time evenly split between the two throughout the training year.

Fellows will gain experience with outpatient therapy for patients referred by medical subspecialty clinics as well as consultation services within multidisciplinary outpatient subspecialty clinics. In addition, fellows will provide inpatient consultation and liaison services at our 135-bed freestanding children's hospital.

Through these services, fellows will support children and families facing a wide range of medical challenges, including chronic pain, craniofacial differences, chronic illnesses such as diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease, critical care needs, hematology/oncology, inpatient rehabilitation, epilepsy, palliative care, and more.

Graduates of this program will be well-prepared to work in a variety of pediatric settings, including academic medical centers, children's hospitals, and private practice. Fellows may also have opportunities for additional psychological assessment experience.

Clinical Child/Adolescent Psychology Fellowship

The Clinical Child/Adolescent Psychology fellowship prepares psychologists to provide evidence-based care and training for diverse youth in a variety of settings, including academic medical centers as well as private practices.

This fellowship offers advanced training in conceptualization and empirically supported interventions for children ages 2-18. Fellows will also complete a minor rotation in a medical specialty outpatient clinic, gaining experience with children who have complex medical problems. In this setting, they will conduct psychosocial assessments and deliver empirically supported treatment interventions.

Our ideal candidate values diversity and cultural humility and is passionate about working with kids and their families. We seek applicants with experience in evidence-based care who also recognize systemic barriers and limitations affecting marginalized families within these interventions.

Fellowship activities include direct outpatient service delivery, providing both assessment and intervention for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, disruptive behavior, and other emotional or behavioral difficulties. Fellows will also engage in individual and group-based interventions.

Training and supervision will focus on evidence-based therapy models, including Parent Management Training and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). (However, certification in PCIT is not currently available.)

Integrated Primary Care Fellowship

The Integrated Primary Care fellowship provides specialized training in delivering behavioral health services within a patient’s medical home. Fellows will work in 2-3 different primary care clinics, expanding access to care through telehealth and community outreach. This experience offers a balance of in-depth integrated primary care training and linking systems of care.

Training focuses on empirically based assessments and treatments for children ages 2-18 who have behavioral health concerns in primary care, such as ADHD, externalizing behavior problems, anxiety, depression, migraines, abdominal pain, elimination disorders, feeding difficulties, sleep issues, or regimen adherence.

Ideal applicants will have a background in clinical child and/or pediatric psychology with interest and experience in a primary care setting.

Psychologists and master's-level clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC) are currently integrated into 15 of 17 Nemours primary care practices across Central Florida. Each pediatric practice serves a unique population, with many clinics dedicated to underserved communities.
